In the tradition of the Truth Campaign, an effort led by Gov. Chiles,
youth from every city and community will  gather in Orlando as part of the
Lawton Chiles Leadership Corps, to be engaged and inspired to lead.

The Leadership Corps is a two-day conference that will bring students from all over Florida
together for a time of inspiration and hands-on training in community mobilization.
Students will also have opportunity to interact with leaders from various sectors:
Federal and state government, non-profit organizations and local businesses.

Additionally, students will participate in brainstorming sessions with peers that we hope
 results in their empowerment; empowerment for youth to affect change at a statewide level.

 

The Event is being held at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.  Students will stay
on Campus in the Libra Community (Sumpter, Flagler and Seminole Halls) with supervision provided
by adults from our partners and sponsors.  College aged students may have an opportunity
to earn additional volunteer hours as a mentor, chaperone and / or a facilitator.
